On May 15, 2009 JJ & I went on our first Fathers & Sons Camp Out at Oak Park. As Young Men's President I had the fun of being in charge of the whole event but I'm glad to say that we have a great ward so there was plenty of help. Friday night we had the young men start the campfire & then put on an awesome skit with a reenactment of the restoration of the priesthood to commemorate the 180th anniversary of that great event. It was followed by testimonies & of course marshmallows & s'mores. In the morning the Bishop & uncle Bob, along with our Stake President & other High Priests made us a delicious breakfast with french toast, sausage, orange juice & milk. The kids had a good time running around, playing at the playground, throwing water balloons and even hiking up the hill to watch the remote control airplanes take off & land at their own mini landing strip. JJ was very happy to see so many sticks that he could collect. After all, the "stick" was inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame just last year! All in all, it was a successful event & JJ loved it, even if Dad didn't get much sleep!
Joshua found the ultimate stick!
Photo-op at the tent. Can you tell if he is having fun?
At least someone finally got a little sleep.
Nite-nite time! But Dad...I'm having too much fun to sleep!
Dad can I have some more s'mores?
